Reprogramming MH-60R Mission Data Libraries
DEWC Services drew on its extensive electronic warfare expertise to reprogram the MH-60R mission data libraries to ensure the effective operation of its electronic warfare systems.
BACKGROUND
The MH-60R Seahawk βRomeoβ helicopter is vital to the Royal Australian Navy, serving key roles in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, maritime surveillance, and search and rescue missions.
The electromagnetic environment is continuously evolving with new and updated systems and threats. The electronic warfare systems onboard the MH-60 are reliant on current, accurate, and relevant Mission Data Libraries to operate effectively in a continuously evolving threat environment. With Australia responsible for one of the largest maritime areas of any nation covering a diverse range of operating environments, it is critical that Romeo mission data libraries are continuously reprogrammed with high quality mission data.
THE SOLUTION & OUTCOME
DEWC embedded a team of highly specialised technical and operational experts within JEWOSU to improve the production, accuracy, and quality of mission data libraries and perform a βcapability stewardβ role for the EW support system, including ongoing training of new Defence staff.
Within 12 months of DEWCβs support, there was a significant increase in Mission Data Library production with the team consistently maintaining or exceeding required production rates, supporting the declaration of previously at-risk capability milestones.
