DEWC Services is proud to partner with Port Adelaide Football Club (PAFC) to deliver a fun night of trivia and fundraising in support of Australian veterans. The DEWC x PAFC Quiz Night will be held on Thursday, 24 July at The Precinct, Alberton, with all the proceeds going to the Power Community Limited (PCL) ADF Veterans Program.

The six-week program – the only AFL-run initiative of its kind – supports current and former Australian Defence Force members as they transition into meaningful civilian careers. Drawing parallels between the elite sport and military service, the program helps participants navigate post-service life through sessions focused on wellbeing, identity, connection and mental health.

Delivered by past and present Port Adelaide players, allied health professionals and community partners, the program fosters belonging and purpose. And it is already changing lives.

With growing demand, this event aims to raise funds to expand the program and reach more veterans across South Australia.

Supported by Veterans SA and DEWC Services, the program continues to grow in impact, empowering veterans to face life after service with confidence.

As a veteran-owned South Australian capability partner to Defence, DEWC Services plays a pivotal role in this initiative. With 30% of its workforce made up of veterans and reservists, the company understands the unique value ex-Defence members bring to the workforce.

Allan Dundas, CEO of DEWC Services and former Royal Australian Air Force engineer, said veterans are an integral part of the company’s success.

“The veterans and reservists in our team bring invaluable perspective because they have a lived experience, a strong sense of purpose and a deep understanding of the environments Defence and our war fighters operate in.

“Veterans at DEWC aren’t just employees – they are mentors and force multipliers. Through leadership, reservist service and technical mentoring, they embed operational insight and Defence values into our workforce, strengthening capability from the inside out. They are a valuable part of our team,” Dundas said.

The PCL ADF Veterans Program expanded in 2024, with more veterans joining (70). The increase in participants shows just how important this space is for those adjusting to life after the ADF.

Will Northeast, Community Programs Team Leader at Port Adelaide Football Club, said the program continues to grow in both numbers and impact.

“It’s been great to see the program with more veterans each week — the stories shared, the connections made, and the support offered really speak to the strength of this community,” Northeast said.

“We’re incredibly grateful to DEWC Services for putting on a Quiz Night to help raise funds for the program. Proceeds from the night will go towards our growing Alumni Events, which now includes over 270 veterans.”

The program also continues to offer something special through sessions with past Port Adelaide players who share their own experiences of transition, purpose and life after football — helping veterans find common ground and new perspective

The quiz night promises a lively evening of fun, trivia challenges, a silent auction and prizes up for grabs. Partners, friends and colleagues are all welcome. Bring your sharpest trivia minds – and your generosity.

Tickets are $50 and include a meal.

The PCL ADF Program is supported by Veterans SA and DEWC Services.
