DEWC CEO Allan Dundas recognised as Australian Defence Industry Awards Executive of the Year
Chief Executive Officer Allan Dundas has been awarded Executive of the Year – SME at the Australian Defence Industry Awards 2026. The award recognises outstanding leadership, business performance and contribution to Australia’s Defence industry.
Presented at the Australian Defence Industry Awards gala in Canberra, the award acknowledges executives who have demonstrated exceptional performance, strategic vision and measurable impact within Australia’s Defence sector. Allan’s recognition reflects not only his leadership, but also the collective efforts of the DEWC team in delivering trusted capability to Defence.
The recognition follows a significant period of growth and transformation for DEWC.
Under Allan’s leadership, the company has evolved from its strong foundations in Electronic Warfare support to become a broader contributor across Command and Control (C2), Communications and Computers (C4), Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and Cyber domains.
This evolution has strengthened DEWC’s contribution to emerging Defence priorities while continuing to support critical operational platforms and frontline capability.
A Royal Australian Air Force veteran, Allan has built DEWC on the values of service, trust and mission focus developed during his military career.
His experience in uniform provided first-hand insight into the challenges faced by Defence personnel and the critical importance of delivering reliable, mission-ready capability.
Today, DEWC remains focused on helping Defence respond to an increasingly complex and contested battlespace. DEWC’s work helps protect those who serve, ensuring mission systems remains interoperable, survivable and effective, while enabling critical platforms to remain operationally relevant in the face of continuous change.
A strong advocate for sovereign capability, Allan has championed investment in research and development, industry collaboration and workforce growth. Recognising that capability depends on people as much as technology, he has also prioritised the development of future Defence talent,
Since 2021, DEWC has recruited, trained and deployed approximately 50 graduates, interns and employees from adjacent industries, helping strengthen Australia's pipeline of highly specialised Defence professionals. Experienced veterans across the business play an important role in developing this workforce, sharing operational knowledge and mentoring the next generation of Defence specialists.
Reflecting on the award, Allan credited the achievement to the dedication and professionalism of the entire DEWC team. His recognition as Executive of the Year highlights the impact of purpose-led leadership, continued service beyond uniform and DEWC’s commitment to delivering trusted capability for Defence and the nation.
